What are the essential items on dangerous goods transport vehicles?

Published on:Jun 10 , 2024

During the transportation of dangerous goods, in order to ensure safety, vehicles must be equipped with some key items. These items include conductive rubber towing strips, ion smoke fire detectors, conductive rubber plates, and explosion-proof containers.

Firstly, the static conductive rubber towing belt is an important equipment installed on the vehicle chassis. It can guide the generated static electricity to the ground, ensuring that the cabin is always at zero position, effectively preventing the generation of static sparks and reducing potential safety risks.

Secondly, ion smoke fire detectors play a crucial role inside the cargo compartment. Once smoke is generated, it can quickly sound an alarm within 3 minutes. The built-in alarm device in the cab will emit an alarm sound of over 100 decibels, reminding the driver to take timely measures.

Furthermore, flame-retardant and anti-static adhesive plates must be laid on the cargo compartment floor, and special anti-static adhesives must be used for bonding. The adhesive solution should be evenly applied, and the adhesive board should be bonded smoothly and tightly to minimize gaps. This not only enhances the fire resistance of the cargo compartment, but also effectively prevents the accumulation of static electricity.

Finally, blast resistant containers are usually installed in the rear compartment to isolate and mitigate potential explosion shock waves. The thickness of the isolation wall should not be less than 80mm, and materials that can absorb explosive shock wave energy and are non combustible or flame-retardant should be filled in the interlayer of the wall. When installing blast resistant containers, special attention should be paid to the location of the vent holes to avoid them being in contact with important components of the car chassis, thereby ensuring maximum protection of the vehicle and personnel in emergency situations.
